Well I am now officially finished with work as the registrar. It is a "bitter-sweet" blessing. I am happy to be out of the office atmosphere but I also really enjoyed being able to work with the people in the office all day long. Also, this next week there is no real registrar and so the BDTS students have a hard time getting answers to their questions.
We got a new member to the BDTS team, his name is Sjack from Norway. Ben Foster, the Snowboarders DTS leader) met him in the square in Christchurch about a few weeks ago. He did his DTS a few years ago and really felt the Lord calling him to New Zealand, but he didn't know why. He came to New Zealand anyway and after 4 days ran into a bunch of us YWAMers in Christchurch. He has now officially joined our staff team to make a total of 6 staff members. 3 girls - myself, Rosie and Natalie. 3 guys - Sjack, Matt and Josh. I still have one day left of staff training, and tomorrow we don't have a whole lot to do. We have gone over things like how to go about One on Ones with students, small groups, Bible studies etc. I have found out who my small group is - I have 5 girls (from the UK, USA, and here in New Zealand). We have also found out what the possible outreach locations are. The Lord has not yet clearly spoke to me about where He wants me to go on this outreach (so prayer would be wonderful!) Ben and Lindsey, our DTS leaders, said that these were options - that they would let the team leader(s) decide where exactly they'd like to go within the options they are given. They are the following:
New Zealand (North and South island)
Australia (Eastcoast)
Southeast Asia (Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam, Berma)
India & Nepal (Northern India)
Eqypt, Jordan, Israel
Geoff will be going home this coming Saturday. :( really explains it all...
