To respond to some questions, I still have no workers visa hahah.. However, no big deal. My tourist visa ends in 1 month so they will have it by then. This Sunday I will be traveling because we have a 1 week "National Holiday." It is a big deal so we are getting out of town. I will be traveling with 1 (male) Chinese English teacher, 1 (female) Chinese English teacher and her American Friend (I don’t know her). The male teacher's English name is Wesley, he is taking us to his home town for a wedding this Monday. It is a really exciting time for his family and I think me going makes things a bigger deal. We will arrive there on Monday. That day is the day of wedding. Then the next morning we will leave for Guilin a really popular tourist spot. During the holiday I expect it to be crazy. Then we will travel to a nearby city known as Yangshuo. There we will visit the town which is on a huge river. We will use boats to get from place to place. Honestly, i know these places are great places but not much more about them.

In Shenzhen, I have been great. I try to and spend at least 2 hours with Chinese friends exchanging languages. This has been helpful because I have made some very nice people from all over China. I also started this 2nd job. I have 1 English class on Sundays. This class pays pretty well and it is 2 hours a week. This English training center is close to me but far enough way so no one at the school finds out. The thing about this job is that they really need an experienced English teacher so they like need me more than I need them. I am using this opportunity to make a couple extra bucks, meet some people, practice Chinese and teaching English. Being that this is a business (unlike my job at the school) I had to negotiate, fight for my money. My 1st day was interesting because the boss is pushing the teachers (slave workers) really hard. He needs more people to come. His meeting was to explain how many students are coming and how we need to get more students here. The meeting was in all Chinese and they have very interesting business strategies or approaches to brining more people in. They want to “put on a show” in the middle of the street. This way the people walking by can see how well everyone speaks English (and Japanese, another language being taught here) haha I kept my mouth closed because it was my 1st day. I will approach the "marketing or advertising techniques" from a different angle.

Yesterday I had a 20 minute conversation with my principal. She really likes me and I think we have a good relationship. I make an extra effort to explain how everything is going and some concerns I may have. I mentioned about how my family wants to come out here at different times and she is really excited.

Everyday is a new adventure in China. Chinese is hard but is fun to practice.

God speed
