Trekking The Simiens - Day 2

2007-09-18, Simien Mountains, Ethiopia

The next day we woke about 7am to some nice wrm porridge which was just what the doctor ordered after a chilly night. But when we got out the tent it was really hot - the clothes we'd been trying to dry of in the tent dried in minutes. Hannah was still feeling rough and after struggling yesterday had to decide if she wanted to carry on which she did.

We started the trek about 8:30 and walked up to about 4000m over the course of the day. We went to lots of different view points with some scary bits thrown in but when you got there it was like being on top of the world and looked just like they did on TV.

Eventually we were cut short by rain and hail, so we wandered back to the camp and spent the afternoon playing cards and keeping warm by the fire, followed by another very cold night in the tent with some very cold toilet trips added in.
