Well, lets see, yesterday i had my first experience with icky food tummy. yuck. i drank some juice that was not a good idea i guess. i spent the morning keeled over at the Drepung Monestary - who had goats there by the way! see pic. i was bent over with my head between my legs for a good portion of the afternoon. at one point a friendly chinese man tapped me on the shoulder and asked to take a picture with me. i got up smiled, and then quickly sat back down and proceeded to be woozy. It stopped a little later, after a good nap! I love naps!
Then me and this couple i met from Finland went to a Tibetan Opera, which very well could be one of my top favorite things from tibet! I love the dancing and singing, as everyone back home knows, even though i am not adept at these arts - I LOVE them! It was just so happy! and smiley and full of good cheer. The last act was representing how the hill people tame a wild yak and domesticate it for their use. The 'Yak' was two men in a costume, but it was such fun! They go around the audience pretending to attack people and people are screaming and laughing and beer is flying! It was a very good time. And then the 'hillman' leaves a white scarf (which are for good luck and a happy life) for the Yak and he whips his horns around it and flips onto his back and then they are friends. HA! Very entertaining.
Thats all from here. The altitude is killing me! I am short of breath and my sinuses are endlessly draining! I am very much enjoying Tibet, but look forward to the night when i don't wake from a clogged nose and restless legs! For some reason, the altitude is supposed to make you not sleep as well.
