Alright, so I got here just fine. Although it did take a mere 26 hours in layovers, flights and automobile rides...I am alive and okay. Personally, I have always had the thought that I am above jet lag and guess what? I'm not.
So I arrived in at the airport and had a party waiting for me. It was about a 1.5hr ride to my school. At my school I met the head director who instantly bought me chicken and beer. I don't know when you could ask for a better start. Then I was taken to my apartment, which is actually quite nice for my personal standards. It's got a bedroom, laundry room, kitchen, bath and walk in closet room sort of thing. Its better than some places I have lived in. If that says anything at all. I have a cute view of the city as well as the mountains. I will take pictures and upload them tomorrow.
I started teaching today as well and to be honest, I really enjoyed it and didn't sound like a total idiot. At least I didnt think so. I just had 1 half an hour class where we read and I talked about words like; hop, mop, top, fog, log...(you get the point.) I can't believe I started on my first day. Wow.
Part of me says, what the hell did I just get myself into? And the other part says, Hell Yes- not many people could top an experience like this. But on day one, I am tired and confused. I dont understand when people talk to me and I cant read. Its humbling and hard at the same time. I am looking forward to meeting more people who speak english as well as getting enrolled in Korean classes and Tae Kwon Do.
Good first impression.
