Okay, so I slept a bit better this afternoon. I took a nap in my one room cell - it was probably midnight my home time, that probably helped. So Hong Kong is ENORMOUS! There are so so so many people here. I am suprised! For those of your from Leadership I feel like i am constantly playing the 'step into the space' game :) And I am big - so that makes me smile. I walked around a lot today and got accustomed to Kowloon, the island north of Hong Kong Island - which is busy and loud and Bright, so its good that my room has no windows.
There are markets and wierd smells and a sticky kind of humidity. I feel like i can't breathe from the pollution and cigarette smoke. I met a girl today from NYC who said it was just like home! I was like - well, Colorado is a bit more... oxygenated :) Tomorrow I switch to a more social hostel and will do some more touristy things. I am happy to report that i am taking more frequent showers and taking better care of myself. I had lunch in a little tea house today, with some ground up pork that by the smell made me want to throw up, but the taste was divine! I will try to upload the pictures after this post.
So, I am doing better today, I haven't had one emotional breakdown since my nap. I am going to eat the rest of my noodles and have a potential beer at the 'irish' pub next door, bar up my room nice and tight and hopefully, sleep like a baby.
Much love to everyone from the other side of the world!
