Today!!! at Sepilok Orangutan rehabilitation center: the Orangutans!
After a beatifull morning taking pictures in the garden of the jungle logde it was time to go with all the turist take pictures to the orangutans. At 10:00 am the orangutans came for fresh bananas, sugar cane and some milk! and the macacs join the feast!!!
The rangers manage to keep the macacs away while the Orangutans get the food, the macacs are tolerated by the orangutans that are a lot bigger than them.
This rehab center collects orangutans from the palm fields that occupied they home forest, or young ones that are somehow abandoned by theirs mothers.
In this place they are trainned to live again in the wild, and just come back for the feeding times for some times, hopefully after some time thy go back to the feed themselves in the forest.
After leaving the center we went on a boat ride to the next jungle resort, this time a "basic one ;-)" in Sukau.
This time for the poboscis monkeys.
We stop at a riverside restaurant and had an excellent meal! local food, tiger beer, and tasty fruits!
after dinner, we had a cine session with a BBC documentary about the poboscis monkeys and it felt like we were living inside it.
The canoe ride at sunset allowed us to see the monkeys by the river side, as they come back from the deep jungle to look for a safe place to spend the night. The sleep by small river banks and jump to the thoer side when they fear any danger!
