So, if it weren't for the kindness of total and utter strangers I would not have made it from Rome to Padova. First of all, I had to lug all of my luggage to the bus stop; a ten minute walk normally. Not when you have luggage. It was more like 20 minutes. At least. So then this woman helped me put it all on the bus. I made to the train station fine; got all my crap off and made it inside. SOMEHOW made it onto the train w/ everything. I was in a compartment w/ this Russian woman and her daughters, it was really cool, they were super nice we talked alot. They got off in Bologna, like 2 stops before me. So then we were getting close to my stop. I was standing out in the hallway, panicking b/c the train only stops for 2 minutes at the platform and I would need to make 2 trips to get everything off. But as I'm standing there, these 2 monks-yes, monks-come out of a compartment and start talking to me, all in Italian of course. They were really nice and when the train started to slow down they told me that they would drop their stuff off on the platform and come back and help me. :) They just laughed at my reaction; I'm sure that I had the most stupid look on my face when they said that, I was so happy.
Whatever, I made it.
Then again w/ the bus. Made it to Prato della Valle. But aparrently I was supposed to get on another bus there-? But this guy asked me when I got off (yes, lots of talking w/ strangers) if I was headed for the hostel (yes), then gave me directions. It turns out I made it just less than half way there, but I didn't know then how faraway it was. And my bags and everything were just too much to deal with. I just kinda stopped on the sidewalk debating what to do when this woman walked by and, again, gave me directions to the hostel. So I continue on for about, oh, 20 feet and just stop. I couldn't go any further and I was soo exhausted and frustrated. And this older man in a car slows down and asks if I need a ride. Now, everyone has been warned since the age of 2 about "strangers with candy". And so I'm sure we all know what I did.
Let's just say that I did not walk the rest of the way to the hostel...
