We had originaly planned to get an early start toady, but it didn't really work out that way. We woke up about 10:30, then went for our egg thinking brendan must have already gone. Turns out he arose just as we were finishing.
So Today we experienced Cairo taxis at their best! Managed to get a taxi about 15-20 miles to Giza to the Pyramids for about 40 egyptian pounds (4 quid). Brendan was telling us how busy India roads are but apparently Cairo beats that hands down.
Got to the pyramids and horse & camel touts fly at you from all angles but we stood firm and resisted and started to trek round in the 40 degree heat (Hannah forgot her long sleeve top and sun cream) we kept walkin around tryin to find the Sphinx but got a bit lost and ran out of water. CAMELS TO THE RESCUE!! We got a 45 min. camel ride around the pyramids with awesome views and got dropped off right at the Sphinx. At first Hannah didnt want to get on but finally persuaded her on the condition that we shared a camel (Poor thing! I could feel its legs buckling all the way!) In the end we both loved it definitely the way to travel, hope theres more!
Later we went to the Egyptian museum and saw loads of old stuff and and dead mouldy pharoahs. Saw Tutankahmun's mask thing as well which was pretty surreal.
Chilled out for the rest of the evening and chatted to Toby and Marie-Alex, two others on our tour.
