One day Gav had the crazy idea to make his own carbon fibre frame.... And because this frame is going to be a single speed for a gunea pig like myself , I'm helping him with the design and build.

So the frist step was to find an old frame so we could use the the head set, the bottom bracket and the rear drop-outs for the wheels, After a bit of looking around a Donor frame was found. Thanks to Geriod for the frame.

The frame was cut and the parts required were cleaned up ready for the build.

Gav used a mold to make the foam cores that will used to make tubes of the frame. He formed the basic shape of the frame. This is where i come in i was required to put on a mask and sand and shape into pretty shapes while gav keep the shape as strong as possible (face protection is compulsory to do the job as we are using nasty chemicals)…

The shaping and designing of the frame is work in progress at this point it needs to be right at this put before we go any further.

We bought disc brakes HAYES HFX-9 XC V6 and some grips to go with the new bike as it comes together a carbon seat post is also and seat is waiting to be mounted to the frame once ready. i am in charge of coming up with badge that will be on the front of the frame as its going to be the brand.

now we are looking for a nice and cheap wheel set front forks and stem and bar........ How much carbon can we have on the one bike i wonder ??????
