Only a 6 hour trip from New Orleans, landing in San Jose for our first international trip seemed much quicker and easier than expected. Learning to stay cool under pressure outside the airport is a lesson in patience. The cabbies where agressive bidders and I was the auctioneer. We agreed on a price, walked the party of 6 to the van where I tipped 3 baggage handlers and once we loaded up, a manager stuck his head in the window to tell us the price was wrong and he upped it. Of course I agreed to get us on our way, but when we arrived at the resort, I payed less to the driver who didn't speak any English anyway. I was determined not to be taken advantage of so I would feel good about everyday in this amazing country.
