Well, another day, another adventure - thats the pirate moto, and today proved no exception. We took ourselves off to Ocean Park yesterday. Yeah I know it's very touristy and a little out of character, but hey, we are tourists for this week (and compared with disney world *shudders* it's the lesser of two evils!
Got to admit, we really rather enjoyed it. Lots of geeky information to keep me entertained and plenty to occupy Val's mind... oh! and some rather fearsome looking sharks and eels! We also got to see the Panda's qiite close up, although the panda cubs had ben forewarned of our arrival and had taken cover.
We went for a wander along the Temple Sreet markets in the evenings to conclude the search for the legendary Jade Monkey, and thats when it happened - The Super Lucky Bonus Item! We stopped in our favourite gutter side cafe for a hlping of rice, spicey pork and beef with ginger and garlic, and found the Super Luckey Bonus Item! What is it? Well, we think its a portion of a jawbone of a fish complete with serrated teeth, although its certainly small enough to be of rodent origins! eeep! All we are certain of is that it DEFFINATLY is not a park of either a pig or cows bones (Didnt take a vet to wrk that one out!).
Now many may have rcoiled in horror at this discovery, but I firmly beleive it was a blessing sent to us from the Jade Monkey - so Ive cleaned it up and kept it in a small velvet pouch with the Jade Monkey for luck (And possibly to present to the medical staff and my legal team should food poisoning occur.)
a-n-y-h-o-o... spent the rest of the evening watching and impromptu fire eating and juggling practice session outside the hotel lobby windows (The arsonists here are sooooo talented!).
As for today, well, we decided to be a little cultural, firstly by visiting the Hong Kong science museum and cultural museum, then by taking afternoon tea at the hotel.
Now those that know me will testify that Im a comlete geek when it comes to all things dinosaur, and OMG! they had a display of rare Chineese avaian and theropod remains - Pig, like, excrement, in, a (I'll let you rearrange those words to guess how I felt). Valmai very spiritadly put up with me through this, bless her.
Afterwards we took afternoon tea, little delicacies with the crusts cut off and oher sweet goodies, how civilised!!!
This evening we went shoe hunting and rounded it off by eating deep fried squid and curried fish balls (That will teach the fish for looking at us funny in Ocean Park!).
Didnt get a Super Lucky Bonus Item tonight tho :o( Some you win....
