...That's Amore!
Hey everyone, I hope you weren't too disappointed about the lack of pictures but I was not able to figure out how to get my camera to transfer pics after all. So today was pretty much just a relaxing day; you know, your average day in Rome:) The only museum we went to today was the Vatican Museum again because I wanted to see some of the paintings we missed yesterday. It was unbelievable! As you probably assume, it was all Christian artwork and the portion I wanted to see was all Renaissance era. The reason is that when I took European History this year in school, we spent a large portion of the first semester on the Renaissance and artwork of the period and I grew to love the style and the way it honored the subject matter. So today I got to ACTUALLY SEE two of my very favorite paintings: School of Athens for the philosophical part and Transfiguration for the religious part. They were even better that I had imagined.
After that we went to a little park sort of thing in the middle of the city and read and I'm not going to lie, I took a little siesta. Then we ate lunch, went through some little shops and then came back to the hotel so that I could work out. Next on the agenda is eating dinner and then we will probably call it an early night because we are both so exhausted. I love hearing from all of you so keep up the messages!
Love and miss you all,
Lindsey (and Allie)
PS. Amy, do I really take myself that seriously to begin with? If I bought that video, clearly not! Also, you should feel so honored, only the most important people make it into a PS.
PPS. Allison you have heard incorrect clearly. If there were to be a word for bad dancer, my picture would appear next to it in the dictionary:) Also, the story I told about the waiter was somewhat similar to the incident in Omaha last summer at IHOP, only creepier because this guy actually said what that guy was thinking! Of course you, Cousin Allison would get her own PPS. Only the best for you:)
PPPS. Auntie Jo, how goes the first day of retirement? Also, my mom told me last night that there really is a story about Hovland, Norway. I would love to hear it if you care to share. Also, I thought about you the whole way through the museum today because I think that you really would have appreciated how the painter treats the content of the paintings. Love you and don't worry , there will be more PPPS's to come!
