Palamidi Fortress

The vast & spectacular fortress stands on a 216m high rock with excellent views down onto the sea & surrounding town. It was built by the venetians between 1711-1714 & is regarded as a masterpiece of military architecture. We could not believe how large this structure was. The views were breathtaking, only pictures could describe it!
