25 hours of flying/transfers 8 green teas,10 coffees,4 bottles of wine,6 Asahi beers,2 large headaches,6 asprin,2 gravol,6 bottles of water 36 rice crackers,6 freeze dried meals, and 13 trips to the lavatory later... bango we were in the sweltering heat of the Taipei tarmac.
After a nice wait through customs ,phewwwww we are home free now all we have to do is get the bags no problem right, .... wrong. SO Jenn and I have three bags we retrieved off the baggage carousel, I had to practically tie her down to stop her from riding on it, but that’s another story.
Chris: We is my freaking bag Jenn?
Jenn: Just relax dude take a deep breath?
10 seconds later
Chris: Great we are screwed, my computer is in there, most of my clothes, geez, where's my stuff Jenn?
Jenn: Chris lets wait for a bit there's still people here so just wait five minutes (Jenn secretly was wishing his bag was lost then maybe Chris can get a new frickin wardrobe. Is that mean? No he looks like a homeless guy who has been taken in for refuge.)
Chris: Hey wait a second whats that plastic hideous duct taped monstrosity, hey that’s my Nair and undies sticking out, holy *&%# what happened.
Taped onto the bag was the following letter:
“Mr.Belisle your bags has been screened through The Republic of China's security umbrella. We verified the contents of your bag......... and then were too lazy to repack your bag so instead we put in another clear plastic bag, ductaped the thing like it was a Guantanamo bay prisoner and then put in another bag. You welcome thanks for flying with us and have a nice day”
So we hope in a cab , outrun a chinese scooter gang(mainly 15 yr old boys) who wanted to hijack us for our marlboro cigarettes and boxer shorts,but alas we escaped there villainous grip.
Finally at 9:30 pm we arrive at our luxurious apartment with our host awaiting us at the gated apartment community, home at last, home at last. We became acquainted after 6 beers and then crashed
