On Thursday, July 19, I set off for Edinburgh, Scotland. After a delayed connecting flight in London, I finally arrived in Scotland and was greeted by Alex at the airport. We had coordinated this trip together, as this was the long weekend of his Law School study abroad program at Oxford.

On Friday, we traveled to the Edinburgh Castle, hiked up Holyrood Park's highest hill (called Arthur's Seat) for a fabulous view of the city, walked down the "Royal Mile", and saw the Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament building.

On Saturday, we took a train to Inverness, where we sailed through Loch Ness (no, we didn't see the monster). It was a beautiful boat ride, with trees and hills on either side of us. Our trip to Loch Ness ended with a visit to the ruins of the Urquhart Castle. Scotland was beautiful, even with the misty and chilly weather. I would definitely go back, given the opportunity. Although, this time I would avoid the haggis (yuck!). :)

Next entry: Hangin out in Oxford
