So after going to bed super early last night, Allie and I got up early so that we could enjoy our new found Belgian patriotism. We had some waffles and then went to the European Union buildings and saw the most beautiful park I have ever seen but which I will not even try to spell. Then we went down to the main square where the festivities were going on and partied with the Belgians while taking lots of pictures and even adorning ourselves with Belgian crowns and flags. Then we watched the military parade, then the diplomatic parade and then we saw the royal motercade from a far but the queen up close enought to touch! It was so awesome! I don't know what we are going to do tonight yet, but Allie has some friends who used to live here so they know all of the good hotspots. Anyway, it's off to Amsterdam tomorrow where we will be going on a 4 hour bike tour including a lesson on cheese making, a windmill, and wooden shoe making:) Good thing I have been practicing my dutch! Love you all and miss you all, Lindsey (and Allie)
PS. About these fanny pack rumors that have been circulating, I would be wearing one, but Amy was too stingy to lend me hers. How selfish:) However, Allison, I do have a pretty serious backpack I carry, and I respect it! PPS. Keep the messages coming, it's so good to hear from you all!!
