Escorted 52 teenagers on their flight to begin their exchange year. After having to take attendance on the runway, help 52 kids fill in their customs declarations and get through passport control, I was beat. But THEN KLM managed to lose 67 pieces of luggage. So I proceeded to fill in documents for my 21 students who were unfortunate enough to have lost their luggage. Welcome to JFK kids.
After 4 hours of dealing with that we plopped them right in the middle of Times Square & then ate dinner at a Chinese restaurant. We were all exhausted & didn't get to sleep until we had been awake for 26 hours, but they were good sports. And so began the New York Orientation...
