I've been in Moshi, Tanzania for almost a week now. The town in great and I am slowly learning a little Swahili. I have a Swahili teacher everyday for a couple of hours and it is going slowly but hopefully I will be able to speak at least a little Swahili after a few months. So far we have visited local markets and a few restaurants in town. We have also been to Amani, which is a home for Street children. Amani just had a new building build and now has plenty of space for children, classrooms and places to play. It is one place that I might be working at for the next 6 months. In the next couple of weeks the details of my placement and my time here will be sorted out. The house we are living in is very nice. We have running water and electricity and I have my own bedroom. Thankfully the noise of dogs and chickens doesn't really stop me from sleeping since it isn't very quiet here at night. The first week of my time here has been great hopefully the following weeks will be as positive.
