Move over Lawrence of Arabia… Wad Rum was a desert experience for sure. We hired a Bedouin 4x4 driver (something just doesn’t seem right there) to take us to the ‘hot’ desert sites. The sand in Wadi Rum was incredible. There were distinct lines between white and red sand, brown and grey, orange and yellow,,, I did not know there could be such diversity. The towering formations, the camel-train petroglyphs, and the ever-changing dunes were all very unique. We spent the night in a Bedouin camp in the middle of nowhere, played desert Frisbee, drank tea, ate a traditionally cooked underground meal, stayed up late listening to Bedouin music, and fell asleep under the stars. It was quite a trip.
