The first day of the homestay
When the train arrived in Arles, Provence, we were met by a woman who took us to our families. My family welcomed me very nicely.
We drove about two km to thier lovely home. I unpacked and ate a nice lunch with them. I understood a little of what they were saying, but not much. The older sister Myléna and I walked to her friend's house after.
After resting, Myléna, Kenza, Kenza's friend, and I walked to town to get ingredients for a chocolate cake, some cookies, and some sparkling water.
The dinner was incredible!!!! It consisted of a quiche and a salade verte.
I am stuggling with communication, but I feel better after one day. They do a lot of hand gestures and slow speaking to help me understand. I am very grateful to have such a warm host family.
