“WELCOME IN JORDAN, FRIEND!” We heard this genuine welcome about 20 times before we could find a room for the night. Everywhere we went, people were so extremely friendly and warm towards us in Jordan. People would cross the street just to give us a hug and welcome us to their country. I have never experienced such hospitality from complete strangers. It was very nice to stay in Amman, and people were always ready to walk us to the right bus, offer us help, or drink tea with us. We hung out in the city for a while, and visited the roman site of Irbid just north of Amman. We were also surprised to go to the King’s Orchestra House expecting a night of jazz, but not planning on them being a Baptist group from Alabama… We were excited to head south into some beautiful natural and ancient sites in Jordan.
