Got an email couple days beforehand from Virgin saying our flight got preponed from 17:55 to 17:25! Weird... never had that before.
Anyway so we left after a hectic packing of stuff. Breezed through Melb Airport as Virgin allow u to check in from home... we just had to check our bags in and that was it!
Paranoid me thought the liquid restrictions thing applied to ALL flights so was a bit uncomfortable on the plane without lip balm / moisturiser. Found out on the way back it was fine on domestic!
Anyhoo, uneventful flight. Got to Coolangatta airport and organised return transfers for $33 p.p. on the bus (Surfside Buslines) who had a counter at the exit. They also do combined transfers with entries into the theme parks / unlimited travel. www.translink.com.au
So got to the hotel at about 11ish and went straight to bed. Rooms were ok, bit basic compared to what I'm used to but had a tv with cable, little kitchenette type area, bathroom (with 2 baby cockroaches eek!) etc. Walls had a few markings so I got the feeling it was a bit unclean, even though it wasn't. Also, the reception didn't arrange for the requested extra doona to be brought up to me, or to have the remote looked at as the sleep button didn't work.
Also, the reception person Pippa told us to go up and go through to level 6, as we were in room 608B. She said there was a 608A and that obviously was not us so to make sure we went to 608B. As there was no bell boys, due to the time I assume, we carted our 2 suitcases and 4 bags up all over level 6. There was no 608B, only a 608! Fed up, went back down and told the other person that was there who apologised to us as we should've been told we had to go through the 608 door to find 608A and B! UGHHHHHHHHhhhhHHHhh some blondes do really act it!
Anyway, had a restful night's sleep.
