Ok so the plan is to head to Surfers for a quick weekend/early week break.

Got cheap flights on Virgin's Happy Hour from Melb to Gold Coast (Coolangatta) for $89. Catch was the return flight left at 8:30 so just booked it one way. The later flight on Saturday, which the sale price applied to, worked out perfect as I had to work Saturday till the afternoon and the flight was at 19:55, so gave me enough time to pack, get spruced up etc.

Our hotel (Sun City Mantra) had a deal so it was $400 for 3 nights. Centrally located and with great facilities, it was quite reflective of it's 4 and a 1/2 star but the room was a slight disappointment compared to what even 3* is in Asia. Apparently, the apartment rooms which cost a bit more are better. Next time...

Coming back we flew Jetstar and the flights were $119 p.p at 18:25, which got me back in time to relax for work the next day.. ughhh.

So all up we paid $210 each for the flights and $200 each for the accommodation which, with my credit with Creative, worked out to $50 each!

Next entry: Day 1 - Saturday 23/6
