I forgot how much I loved Paris...

So we had three ridiculously long days in Paris. First day we wandered around a lot, went to see the Louvre (free for students on friday after 6pm- score!) Next morning for breakfast we discovered the cutest little street with delicious looking bakeries and markets and fromageries etc. Goldmine. Grabbed some stuff and walked to Montmatre and climbed those steps again. There are the same people on the stairs trying to sell you the same ridiulous friendship braclets- it gave me a laugh. It actually was a hot day so we sat in front of the basillica with an ice-cream.

We started walking towards the Eiffel tower, hitting some of the main stuff along the way. Well those cute little maps of Paris make you forget how long it actually takes to walk. Our plan was to have a picnic by the Eiffel tower but by the time we actually made it to the Seine we were about to fall over. Now I can't even explain how this next part happened but it took us FOURTY MINUTES to find a BAGUETTE in PARIS. I was shocked (and also pale from hunger). Attie was so hungry she was ready to pay ten euros for an apple. Even the grocery store we found (and normally i wouldnt buy a baguette from a grocery store in Paris) didnt have baguettes. FINALLY we found a bakery which actually had delicious melt-in-your-mouth fresh baguette (which attie was eating before we even got there :P) and we got cheese and, of course, wine. We flopped on the Champs des Mars in front of the Eiffel tower and had a delicious picnic. The wine really helped!

We then (I dont know WHAT we were thinking) decided to walk to the Latin Quarter for a late dinner. Its about 9pm now, so thats fine they dont eat till late. Well at 11 we finally rolled into the Latin Quarter. Too tired to eat, we decided to get dessert. Attie recommended creme caramel. And I blame her for everything that followed....(lets just say it most certainly was NOT creme caramel but i dont think i'll ever be able to try it now

Next day we went to church at Notre Dame, went to the Eiffel tower and climbed it this time. Actually had a delicious dinner in the Latin Quarter (we were there at 830 this time!)

Walked back (Paris is so beautiful at night) and packed our bags for the last time, which was pretty surreal. Couldn't believe the trip was over, but it was prety great!!!!!
