Road Trip Germany So Far

Kia Ora xxx

We arrived safely in Germany (despite a few harrowing moments time, ques, customs, flight delayed etc) Claudia and Heinz met us at airport where we where taken to Rita & Heinz for some cake & coffee (Sandra your Mum is a GREAT cook) I was a little concerned we were going around in circles as I kept seeing a sign Asfahrt (sp??) only to be told it was the exit sign on the motorway!

Onto Claudia & Alexs whose home is just devine! Claudias birthday party in a 100 year old cellar. Mark has learnt a few more drinking/party games! He got home at 4,00am! Needless to say a few tired hungover people at the breakfast table on Sunday!

Sunday we went to Miltenberg (the oldest pub in Germany) and had some devine soup for lunch. Then onto a nearby Kloister where a lonely sole monk lives (he served Mark beer). Arrived just in time for Mass! Smells, bells, holy water the works! Beautiful views.

Mondaz: Alex and Mark went to pick up campervan. Claudia made scrumptious lunch which I have since made on the road! Yummie! Once Mark was back we hit the road destination = Supermarket = ALDI! After stocking up we headed for Warzburg! Spent night there and went to Rothenburg the next day! Amazing fully walled city. Medievil Crime Museum! Chirstmas Museum and shop (I spent 100 euro!!!) and lots of other cool things to see and do! Next stop Augsburg to do our SOS mission! After 4 days on the road and a broken down Tom Tom (GPS) Kyle & Merrin were heading our way to follow us and our GPS they had done no sight seeing!

Stayed night in Augsburg and onto Dachau the next morning. An interesting but sobering sight. I have some pics. Had tears welled during the most part of it but they soon welled over when we went into the memorial room! The first memorial I saw was for the Jehovah Witnesses who had lost their lives at Dachau. Kyle & Mark went in search for the crematorium (I thought I could do with out seeing that so went back to camper for cup of tea with Merrin).

Connie & Herbert Heipp! Arrived at their place 3pm Wednesday! So great to see them again after 3 years! And they didn#t mind we had K&M in tow! We all parked up on their massive lawn in our campers! Onto another Kloiser! Andechs! Amazing Cathedral and even more amazing food hall with Steins half the size of Merrin (and yes she did drink it all) Pork knuckles, pretzels, sour croat, cheese & beer for dinner.

Thursday Schloss Linderholf - a castle suitable for a minor God! One of the many castles Mad King Ludwig II built. Complete with its own man made grotto!

Friday we headed for Berchetsgaden where are leaving todaz (Sunday) we have had a good look around. Yesterday Mark Zach & I FINALLY managed to get into Salzburg and the ONE yes ONE and only carpark which allows campervans!!!!!!! I've sung High on th Hill is The Lonely Goat Herd in the Marinette Puppet Museum and Your are Sixteen Going On Seventeen in the Pavillion! We've been up a castle overlooking Salzburg and cooked dinner in a carpark!! !! Also went into the Salt Mines which were awesome! Bev, HeeKyung & Dayle you would have loved it and yes I did take out a small mortgage to bring home samples for you! Today we are off to Eagles Nest. From there we don't know where we will head as we've decided Slovenia & Croatia is another trip. We over estimated the reasonable amount of travel we can do with Zach & doing each destination justice in terms of sightseeing. This trip we'd like to see more than just highways! Trev & Megan every time we pass a bike Mark is green with envy that you've done these roads! Yulia was that cryptic message about coming home pregnant with a boy regarding the gender of your pregnancy????

So lots of love to you all sorry about the lack of updates but internet access isn't always easy!

ps= Zach has taken to calling out 'Mark'!! !! !!
