First Day
When we arrived in Paris, our group checked into the hotel. We then walked to the back of Notre Dame. We took pictures and got to know each other a little, then we were divded into groups of four. Each group had a list of items to buy for lunch. Our group had to get paper plates, napkins, utensils, and 7 baguettes. We ate a very great French meal!
After lunch the whole group walked back to the hotel to get ready. My room-mate was going to take a shower until she discovered the shower was only a bathtub, and you had to hold the shower head above you.
Our smaller groups were sent on a scavenger hunt to get us used to the city. This was extremely difficult, because many times we tried to speak French, but the shop owners started speaking English.
We met up at the hotel to go to diner. It WAS AMMMMAAAAZZZIINNNGGGGG!! The restaurant was small and only three tables were occupied. First, we were served a delicious slice of quiche, which had the most incredible flavor. For the entree, I had sausage with potatos and spinach. The sausage had the perfect amount of spice, and went beautifuly with the dijon mustard. We were not going to get desert because everyone was falling asleep, but the owners insisted. They brought complementary slices of the most incredible chocolate cake.
While we ate that, they turned off all the lights except for two stage lights, pointing to an open area of the room. One after another, people from tables went up to the stage to perform beautiful peoms in French. That was an incredible experience that I will never forget!
