Hey everyone,
So I think I am moving to Spain some day...
I have been in Sevilla for a whole week now. Sorry for the delay; we have been crazy busy. So far my roommate Julie and I have explored the city many many times, saw a few concerts, spoke lots of Spanish with our host family and Sevillanos, and of course experienced the night life in el centro (city center). We also went to the archaeological museum and visited Cordoba. The mosque of Cordoba is absolutely amazing. I have been there during my last trip to Spain, but it still leaves me in awe.
Our host family is wonderful. Beatriz and Federico are our parents. They have three children: Federico, Marta, and Maria. They are all around our age, so they can tell us great places to go in the city. They have made our stay very comfortable. I am loving the Spanish schedule, but there is one aspect that is really hard: the food. I feel like a pig eating here, because the portions are so small. No wonder everyone is to tiny here. But the food is delicious and I am surviving on ice cream :)
Classes are going very well. I have two classes, and the professors are wonderful. I am especially liking my Three cultures class (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam) and how they have influenced Spain. Now I want to be an architecture and history major, too!
So far this trip is a nice combination of hard work and extreme fun. I can't wait to do experience everything here.
Hope everyone is doing fine in the US. Enjoy your summer!
Adios,
Andrea
