After Emma and Gary finished work, and after I stopped feeling so hung over, we met up with 9 other Aussie's and headed to SAN DIEGO!!! Still to hung over to do anything Friday night so Emma, Gary and I chilled in our hotel room and had a early night!
Saturday brunch at 'Bondi', an Australian restaurant, owned by Australian's with Australian staff, food and beer. First thing I did was order a Boags and had a lamb burger! yum! The owner came out and chatted to us, he grew up in Tasmania and we soon found out he knew Emma's family. Bloody small world!
Played a little footy in the street (got some funny looks from the Americans!) then headed to a wave park. Its where there is a wave machine, surfers take in turns jumping on the wave and showing off while we all sit around the bar in the sun and watch. Almost got a tattoo but the tattoo artist kept trying to change my design so I didn't really want him to do it.
After all the Australian activities - sun, surf, Boags, lamb and footy - we all decide to go to Hooters. All the Aussie's headed to the baseball match and Emma, Gary and I headed back to the hotel to use the pool, a few drinks then back out to party with the guys after the game had finished. Crazy night with some of us ending up in the hotel room for room party.
Sunday we headed to the San Diego safari park - All the animals are native to South Africa. It was a hot but relaxing day walking around seeing the animals, and they take you in a vehicle and drive you through the back of the park, just like a real safari!! Will upload some photos soon. Now its time to drive back to LA. Dan arrives back in LA in 2 days!! Am planning on making him eat vegimite for the first time.
It was such a great weekend, but now time to rest and stop spending money! Emma has signed me up for a pub crawl this weekend starting at Redondo Beach (where the OC is filmed) with the same people who came to San Diego, should be interesting.....
