Some major differences about French life:

-dinner is not served until 7:30 or 8pm
-the cars here are much much smaller than those of the U.S.
-almost every store is closed on Sunday.
-French people do not seem to believe in pre-made or ready-to-go food. Everything is made at home.-if you are standing in line, they do not open another register or have another cashier come help. The line gets longer and you wait.
-the education system is much different. Children are still in school until the last week of June.
-very few people speak English in Nantes
-it is rare for anyone under 21 to have their driver's license
-it gets dark at 10:30pm and is light at 4:45am
-the train/bus system here is nearly flawless in schedules, routes, and times
-so many people smoke cigarettes!
-sales in shops only occur for one month (end of June-end of July)
-coffee (cafe) is the equivalent of espresso and is served in tiny cups
-regardless of the time of day, you are bound to see at least one person carrying giant loafs of bread in their bag
