Today was our last day of holiday as tomorrow (Friday) all day we will be travelling and we wont be home until Sunday lunchtime - jet lagged to the max.
So we made the most of today witha trip to Lucca. Lucca is a nice little town which is not as touristy as Florence or Pisa but some tourist still find it.
The city is surrounded by a wall that has stood for hundreds of years since the city was involved with Pisa which was one of the 4 major maritime powers back in the day. The city mostly handled banking and commerce but now it's a little differnt. Now there are plenty of jewellery shops here too so Alison was walking around with eyes like dinner plates. Since we spent all of our money the day before however no purchasing was on the cards only window shopping. So Mum & Deanna or Kath and Kim as i like to know you both as, if you come to Italy make sure you go to Lucca but dad hide the credit card.
We caught the train from Lucca back to Pontederra and the scenery along the way was very nice. Tuscan villages surrounded by mountains full of marble and topped with fruit and vine plantations everywhere.
Well i have to go as we are about to have our last meal in Italy - Home made PIZZA - YUMMY, so the next you'll hear from me will be when we get to Hong Kong and we have a couple of hours to kill. See or talk to you all again soon.
