Brugge was to be a short stop on our way back to London so we didn't have a great deal of time.

However in the time that we had we managed to eat loads and see lots of great stuff.

Our first stop was to the town square where we started our mission to find the best waffels in Brugge. Now i'm not sure that they where the best but that sure tasted good. Waffels with ice cream covered in warm chocolate sauce - yum - i can taste the calories especially since the side dish was a huge vcanilla milkshake - dairy overload.

After our feast we walked arounf beautiful Brugge and took in alll the marvellous architecture throughout the city. Chocolate shops here are like starbucks or 7Elevens - one every 20 metres. They had some very interesting chocolates ranging from adults only to the ones more suitable for children.

After i'd felt i'd walked off the waffels Ali and i grabbed some Pomme Frittes the other dish that Belgium is famous for also known as hot chips. The story goes that when the americans came to Brugge they saw the hot chips and because the locals in southern Belgium speak French they thought they were in France so hence the name French Fries. The things you learn when travelling. They tend to eat their chips with mayonaise here so we settled for this out of the 25 different types of other sauces available. By now Ali and i are full again and are petrified of a set of scales, lucky i joined that gym before i left otherwise i'd be in dire straits.

After our short stop in Brugge we jumped back on the coach and headed to Calais where we boarded the P&O ferry back to Dover where we would then spend another 2 hours on the coach to get back to London - I'll be happy not to see another coach for months.

Actually looking forward to getting back to London - where english is the first language in use.
