Thursday we travelled to Stuttgart via the town of Heidelberg. Heidelberg was another relaxed University town, but was essentially closed as it was a public holiday.
Arriving in Stuttgart we chose a fairly ordinary campsite - however the fact that it was amongst the Mercedes end of town and alongside their testing track helped (see photos). A loud festival nearby quickly drew our attention and upon walking there we realised it was a Croatian Festival! We didn't hang around for too long as everyone seemed to know everyone else except for us..
On the Friday we visited the Mercedes-Benz and Porsche museums. The Mercedes one was very impressive - modern, well built and enormous. The Porsche musuem, near the factory in Zuffenhausen was low-key and tucked away, which almost in a way made it better. It was, though, fairly small and we had looked around it an 30 minutes or so.
We then drove to the centre of Stuttgart, a lovely town in itself. We had lunch and looked around for a few hours. The 'Main Station Tower' above the Railway Station gave a great view of the city. In the afternoon we drove to Freiburg.
