Well for Jordan it was his first trip there. But Conor had been to Toledo last year and Kathy and I were there 25 years ago. It's still impressive. We arrived at the train station in Toledo a little before 10 and began following our book's path up to the city. The problem was that we found the directions a little confusing. Conor had come from a different direction and Kathy and I started going the way that looked familiar. We were a little halting...but it is still cool to begin that walk up to the city which still looks ancient from below (and from within). We spent the day walking the narrow streets, visiting the amazing Cathedral there, playing cards and hanging out in the Plaza Zocodover, eating, and shopping. We even got lost a few times and viewed some amazing El Greco paintings. Jordan had started off yesterday morning with getting sick on the way to Cuidad Real and had fellt lousy off and on throughout the day. Early in the morning before leaving for Toledo he had gotten sick again. But as the day progressed he seemed to be feeling better and better (except for a sore throat). When we returned home he seemed to be a lot better. On Saturday we begin our journey from Madrid to South Africa. We'll see how often we are able to post from there.
