We drove to the district of Carazo for lunch. Nicaragua is split into different districts, which each have a “president”, which is probably more like a governor. The district of Carazo is home to the Lago de Apoyo, the largest crater lake in the country. It is gorgeous and home to a variety of marine life. We got to eat lunch at The Mirador de Catarina (The Overlook of Catarina), which set overlooking the lake. It was absolutely beautiful and the food, although interestingly presented (I got an ENTIRE leg of a large chicken, from hip to ankle, bones and all – see the picture posted), it was delicious!
