So my story about cruise ship life starts on a good note - Drinking! We had an overnight (something that doesn't happen very often) in Cobh, Ireland - that's the last place the Titanic sailed from. There was only 1 hours work for the orchestra for the highly captivating Captains Cocktail and then we all headed out to drink as much as humanly possible. It started well as we found a great little pub called the Roaring Donkey, a local place with no crew from the ship at all. Cobh is a hill, there's no other way of putting it. Any direction you come from you'll have to walk up a hill so we decided to start at the top so we could roll down to the bottom when we got too wasted.

Several pints of Guinness later, a smashed glass on the floor, and we were on to the next pub to chack out some traditional Irish music. Can't recall the name of this one as my vision was slightly blurry by this point. The pub was rammed with locals and a couple of crew. The owner was fantastic and we managed to stay for the after hours lock in. It was a fantastic evening. A quick roll down the hill to the cruise ship and back on board by 3am full to the brim of Guinness.

There was a bag pipe festival that day in Cobh so the place had been busy all day and I reckon some of the locals had been drinking since the pubs opened because they looked worse then me. I spent all of today in bed with a pounding hangover, and only rose to have a rehearsal for the show we're doing tonight. That was one of the most difficult rehearsals I've ever done because I was still drunk and couldn't see the music properly, but as they say it'll be alright on the night!
