Leaving Brisbane

2007-05-28, Noosa, Australia

It's been difficult getting on the internet at times so the last load of updates I did whilst at Ritchie and Hazels in Brisbane. I'll update from leaving there until today then try and keep popping back filling in the blanks otherwise you dont hear what we are up to at the time. Hope that makes sense!!!!

We left Ritchie and Hazels on Monday 28th May after lunch and head for Noosa on the Sunshine Coast, this is apparently one of Australias most exclusive resorts so dont really know why we were going there in our dodgy looking van. It was dark when we arrived but it looked nice, we grabbed some food then went to Rivers Entrance Beach to sleep. We thought it would be quiet as you had to drive through the National Park Woods, there was loads of parking areas so we stopped right on the side of the beach, there was one other camper van there so we thought this would be ideal. We went to bed at about 7pm as it gets dark so early it feels really late. I think this has to be one of our worst nights sleep ever. We were woken up at about midnight by a loud thud on the van, I absolutely pooed myself. Stu peered out of the window and saw a car with some young lads in. Stu clocked one lad sneaking to the side of our van ready to start banging on it but as he got there Stu banged on the window, the lad sh** himself and legged it back into the car and sped off. I couldnt sleep then as I was scared that they were going to come back. Stu wasn't bothered he said its just kids messing about, I did remember that somebody had told me the locals think its funny to rock travellers vans in the night, I was not amused though. I finally managed to drop off when we were woken again at about 7am with somebody banging on the door, it was only the bloody Ranger for the park telling us your not meant to sleep in your van in Nooseville- oops!!! I couldn't wait to get out of the place. I must admit Noosa is lovely if your've got plenty of money but no good when your travelling on a budget. There are loads of posh shops, restaurants and hotels so no good for us.
