Bol lived up to its expectations. It is two white pebble beaches that meet and jut out into the ocean about 500m. The water is AQUA AQUA blue and the surroundings are unspoiled. That afternoon it reached 35 degrees – so it was just like we were on an exotic holiday. I can’t wait to show off my tan to all the pasty people in the offices downtown Calgary when I return to work. It is amazing that such a beautiful spot has not been destroyed by commercialism and resorts. In fact I did not see a resort the whole time we were on the island. I really don’t think this will last though.
We stayed the night in Bol at a campground in a trailer. It sounds worse then it was, but it definitely was very “students on a budget”. I think it was like $5 or $6 dollars a night for each of us. Haha We had a great time though. That night we treated ourselves to a nice dinner – I have never tasted better seafood than that of Croatia. Every restaurant is so good.
