This past weekend I had quite the trip. Turquoise beaches, gorgeous towns, good friends and a real cultural eye opener! (details to come)
The weekend started off a little rough. I got the call from home that my grandmother passed away. Thankfully she passed away peacefully and I think had a adequate chance to say good-bye to those she would have wanted. My family and I talked about me coming home, but instead we decided my presence would mean just as much in the form of thought.
That evening to completely change the pace we had planned a trip to Bosnia and Montengro. Unfortunately when we got to the car rental place they informed us that insurance would not cover us in those countries. Not wanting to test our luck we decided to explore southern Croatia. And wow, what a trip. I am glad I can leave Europe saying that I say the north, south and coastline of Croatia.
We left Thursday night and arrived in Split on Friday morning at 7:00 am – crazy maybe but we didn’t want to waste any time. We explored Split for a while – which was beautiful but I think more of a hub to go to the beautiful islands that lined its close line. By the time it was 8:00 in the morning it was already hot outside, so we knew it was going to be a scorcher. To take advantage of the nice weather we decided to take a ferry to the island of Brac, and spend the day at Bol, which is rated Croatia nicest beach and often featured on all their advertisements and brochures.
