WeŽre now in Uyuni after a 6 hour bus journey through some very dramatic and rugged countryside.
We chose the bus company as they had the smartest vehicle parked outside their office (all the others were clapped out things, bald tyres anŽ all). We joked that something less comfortable would turn up. Ten minutes before departure, our luxury bus moved away and was replaced by..... yes you guessed it!
Uyuni is in the middle of nowhere (think of a typical South American desert town - the type youŽve seen in Westerns on the TV - windy and dusty) on the edge of the largest salt flats in the world, into which, tomorrow, we embark on a 3 day trip in a 4wd (or is that a 4 day trip in a 3wd?).
