so we finally left the land of rain and arrived in milan. had my first meal of delicious FILLING pasta (recall the 9 euros for 9 pieces of ravioli even in venice...) so delicious...

next day, got up to see the duomo, but apparently i couldnt go in cause of my shorts...however i just arrived in rome and will be seeing more churchs than i can probably deal with anyways.

so we saw the main sqaure in milan, and went into this mall where the cheapest thing there was probably 400 euros...i dont think iàve ever felt so out of place what with my travel bag, my 2L bottle of water in one hand (you know cause we cant afford 200ml ones in restaurants) and my raincoat in the other....the security guard wouldnt even let us in to the fendi and prada parts....definitely one of the ìunwashed folksì as the rich couple we met in prague so deftly pointed out to us...anyways so after that embarrassment we said goodbye to maggie, who has been with us since interlaken and now has to go home and work, and got on a train to rome...a cursed train...where the brakes brokw dfown and got us into romew 4 hours later...

however...today i will see my first bit of rome, we are going to mass...and it is actually beautiful and sunny and i stupidly just checked the weather and it will be raining the next two days but ithe only reason i am still sitting on the computer is cause i am waiting for attie..then we are going to mass in st. peters (hopefully the one the pope does..)

ok so im off!!

Next entry: Pope-sighting
