so we went from venice to milan just cause our flight was from milan...from the little we saw, milan does not seem like much of a european city...and its not like i can afford to shop...so we took a place to athens and then had to stick around the airport for a few hours (they even had a museum in the airport with like 5000 year old pots and stuff) and then took another flight to Crete. We arrived at the airport late so took a taxi to chania (the town close by) and stayed there for the night. got up, went to the market to grab something for breakfast, and got on the bus to Plakias. Plakias is on the south of Crete and on the bus there i saw that crete is everything i imagined greece to be- dry arid rugged terrain with olive trees and goats everywhere and beautiful blue green water....we got to plakias and went straight for the beach for a couple hours. then (this place is so CHEAP!) had a 3 course meal last night for 8 euros...and they gave us free alcohol...i tried mousaka...which i will not be having again...but i did love the feta saganaki....so that was yummy....sat by the beach and had so dessert. did not know yet at this point that the next day (today) would be POURING rain so am glad we got a few hours on the beach...i kid you not, a rain cloud is following us everywhere....i have heard this in at least 3 places "well i was hot and sunny and beautiful for the last 3 weeks just before you got here". so i think we might be changing islands. but crete is still beautiful! and we were full last night!

Next entry: seriously bad weather karma...
