End the of Oz......

Well as Oz finally comes to an end, heres what we've been up to...

Wednesday 9th May
We decided to go and have a walk around Townsville, see the marina and beach. Its a strange small city. We summed it up as spooky!! Although theres quite a lot there, theres hardly anyone around and it all seems so quite!!

We went to Anzac Memorial Park and played on the swings!! He he, loads of fun! Also found a water play area, that wasn't open that day but looks like a lot of fun and something I've not seen before as it did not have a pool, just play items that water came out of etc.

When we got back to the hostel we chilled out for a bit, I decided to unpack everything and go through what I needed and what I don't! So made a little extra room to try and fit everything in successfully!!

In the evening we met up with Sy again and went to the cinema. We went to see Shooter. It was wicked, really enjoyed it! Especially the cheesy slow motion, hero, scenes!

Thursday 10th May
Up early to call home then packed everything ready to check out. Got to the bus stop waiting for the Greyhound... and it dawned on me.. I forgot my passport etc! AHHH!!!! Left it in the safe!In a panic I rang the hostel up and luckily they had someone around to bring it to me!

The Greyhound was the worst journey ever! We were happy chilling watching a DVD, then a crazed aboriginal woman got on, I was still a bit obvious to it all and jem happened to just glace up at her as she was swearing all the way down the bus. Then she sat behind us calling us every name under the sun! What had we done wrong?!?!?! Then she punched Jem's chair coz it was in the back position. jem went to get the driver who told her to calm down, and we moved! Was really shaken up though.. we did nothing wrong but she hated us! I ended up sitting next to a woman with a baby and she stank. Couldn't wait to get off!!

Eventually we arrived, got collected by the hostel and a proper tour round, its a really nice one. Met up with Rach, Neil and Rob from Fraser, all met in the evening and did the bar quiz!!

Friday 11th May
I got up early this morning to get out into town. Its rainy! Boo! Went to the Internet in town to start sorting out sort stuff for Singapore. Got a nice place booked up there! Very excited! In the afternoon jem and me went to meet my friend from home, Natalie! YAY! We went to her hostel, its brand new so really nice! We had a couple of coffees with her and caught up on all the gossip. So great to see her.

We got back fairly late to the hostel, had a quick shower and met up with Leonie and Neil for an all you can eat Mexican. It was so yummy, and I was stuffed!!! We just chilled in the bar for the evening.

Saturday 12th May
Up early again to head to the Internet in town... free before 10am! Then went and met Natalie for coffee by the lagoon! We spend the rest of the afternoon looking around the shops, resisting all temptation to buy everything I loved! Still don't have room (damn the rucksack!) The I went back to Nat's hostel for another coffee and her friend Laura was there too, just back from doing her Padi Diving course.

After coffee I wondered back to our hostel and had some dinner. Then we all got ready to go out and meet Nat and Laura in town for a few quiet drinks. Was sooooo nice seeing Nat!

Sunday 13th May
Up at 4am!!!! Had a plane to catch down to Brisbane! We were on Virgin Blue, then flight went smoothly, took just under 2 hours... can't believe its that far apart!! When we landed we got the air train to the city and found the hostel easily. We were too early for check in so headed straight out into town to see a bit of Brisbane as its such a flying visit!

Found the cutest sandals... I know I know... but they were in the sale and are sooooo cute!!! (girls... you know what I mean!) Had my last Subway for a while, and it was good!

Went back to the hostel a little while later and checked in. That evening wee had dinner in the bar and then packed everything up for our flight to Singapore tomorrow! Ahhhhh sooooo excited!!

Monday 14th May
Popped into town quickly in the morning and got a supply of locks for my bag... I have a habit of losing them or breaking them!! And need to be a little safer in Asia I think!

Just waiting to get on the plane really, so excited though! Staying in a nice place in Singapore, it has a TV in the room and everything! Bring on a little luxury I say!
