Bath is a must visit destination the entire city has been designated a world heritage site with some buildings dating back 2,000 years, the Roman Baths the most famous, we had a lovely stay in Bath walked through the ancient malls and across the famous Pulteney bridge, we marvelled at the ingenuity of the builders at the Roman baths with their intricate system of drainage and plumbing, we treated ourselves to an English high tea in the pump house and took a river cruise down the Avon river (it was interesting to note that Avon actually means river therefore The Avon river is really River river apparently the Romans got confused when translating the name which is why there are so many rivers throughout England and around the world called Avon).

Our stay was made all the better when we were informed that a room had become available so we could stay and relax a little it also meant we would be able to make our way out to Cheddar.

Next entry: Cheddar
