What is this sand?

Hey everyone, I made it back to the states okay, now I have a couple of days of driving ahead of me to get to Omaha. It was a little weird today waking up on Susan's couch in Nashville, I didn't know where I was at first. It's crazy that yesterday at this time I was playing in the ocean.

We were at a small resort on the north side of the island. I didn't get in on Friday I thought I would wait until Saturday to get slammed into the sand by wave after wave. On Saturday I got rocked by the ocean my first trip in, but after that I was able to enter and exit the ocean gracefully. After watching several people I decided to try diving into the wave and it works. I'm still finding sand in my ears and hair. I didn't get as much time in the sun and ocean as I had hoped because the one time during my entire trip that clouds and rain lasted longer than 30 min was the 2 days it lasted at the beach. On Sunday and Monday the beach was closed because of the currents. We decided we would rather have yellow flags (which meant we could go in the water) than sun. We got the yellow flags and even a little sun so the last couple of days were a lot of fun. We had fun the rainy days too, we kept saying at least we are by the beach and not in Omaha.

Well that's about it for my DR experience. I'll attach some pictures that I have been promising from the Batey, the wheelchair clinic and the beach. See some of you soon.
