Yesterday we headed back down to the coast to Pisco (home of the Pisco Sour).
Today we took a couple of tours. The first was to the Islas Ballestas, a small group of islands famed for its bird colonies, guano and general smelliness. The bird colonies, of mainly Peruvian boobies, gulls, pelicans and the odd penguin was quite impressive but we found it difficult to get excited (as everyone else on the boat was) by the sight of sea-lions - we´d overdosed in the Galapagos!
The afternoon´s tour was to the Reserva Nacional de Paracas, a coastal desert environment.
In the evening we adjourned to a little establishment and partook in a couple of Pisco sours, a frothy little number (Danny, you´ve GOT to try one!). Caz could´ve drunk them ´til the cows come home but I don´t think I´ll make it MY favourite tipple, although I did sleep well!
