dinner and haircut
So yesterday work was normal but we had company dinner that night. I went home, showered, changed, and then went to Champs Elysees to meet Paul, Agnes (his wife) , Nathanael, and Ashley. Dinner was amazing. We were in this private back room of this Italian restaurant (findi). I think we ate for about 3 hours, but it didn’t really seem like it. We had great food and wine! Take a look at the picture.
This morning I finished up studying for one test and took it after lunch. We sat outside for about 2 hrs during lunch and I got quite a lot of sun. We all left work around 4 and went to the electronic store for the boys to do some shopping (check out the pix of me riding with paul). They picked out a bunch of stuff and I left around 5 to go get my hair cut.
Wow. So the haircut was interesting. The language barrier was interesting, but I think everyone spoke English pretty well. I just felt bad that my French wasn’t better. The shampoo woman shampooed my hair and gave me this komono-esque robe to put on and gave me a coffee ( which I think just hit me). She made me sit there for about 10 minutes while the conditioner did its magic. Then, the cutter guy asked me what I wanted and said something in French. He was telling me to stand up, so I did. He started cutting my hair while I was standing! It was really strange, especially since I was taller than him. He was pretty rough with his comb because my head was a little sunburned from lunch. Anyway, finally he brought the chair back and cut for a good 20 minutes.
I really liked how the cut was looking, and then he disappeared. He came back with a band aid on his finger and then went back again to get another. I asked if he was ok and he said yes, but it was pretty clear that he cut his finger! Poor guy. Anyway he styled my hair SUPER curly.. like a little fur ball. After I straightened it a bit, it turned out pretty well!
From there I went to my last pizza night. I will hopefully see a few people before I head out for good. Anyway, it was a good past 2 days and I know this entry is pretty poorly written, but oh well.
