Vienna Rendevous

2007-04-10, Vienna, Austria

The later part of our week was spent enjoying Budapest at a more reasonable speed. We did however take a day trip to Vienna. I actually enjoyed going back there, because it was one of the first cities in Europe I went to, so I had almost forgotten exactly how beautiful it was. It also was different seeing it in full bloom versus in January. I think Vienna strikes the perfect balance between European beauty, and a city that has not become overly touristic. I don’t really like when you go to a city and feel that you are at home because of all the Americans and British that you are surrounded by. We spent a short amount of time shopping (because Vienna does have great shopping), visited the Imperial Apartments (Hapsburg’s winter residence) and then took a bus tour, because we had a limited amount of time and I wanted my mom to be able to see it all. It was good because she also got to see the Schonbrunn palace.
