A sad Monday

Today while eating lunch in town, we saw on the television about the terrible news of the shooting at Virginia Tech (the sound was off and the captions were in Spanish but we got the grim news nonetheless). It seems weird to be in a different country when something terrible happens in the U.S. Very separated. I thought how eerie if that had happened at Regis or Creighton University, where most of us are from. Then I think -- how many lives were shattered today just because of one man's actions?

We had a prayer service and a moment of silence for those affected by this shooting. I just hope the community will rise in support. I definitely believe things will be different on college campuses around the nation...and security guards will probably begin carrying weapons.

What do you guys think?

Love to everyone...

P.S. This afternoon I went and served at an orphanage. So heartbreaking...Details later though.

Next entry: Waterfalls and more...
