First go at surfing in Oz

Unfortunately Jan was working today but because i had the weekend off i drove down to Torquay with Matt who's one of the local builders who stays at the hostel.We left early in the morning at about 6ish and headed down the motorway towards the great ocean road for an hour. We got to the famous surfer spot at bells beach and proceeded to head for the freezing cold water in one of the quieter spots so he could teach me the basics.Dressed just in t -shirts and short we hit the water bloody hell that was a shock to the system i can tell you.We spent a couple of hours battling the waves and getting very nakered. Surfing is defiately alot harder than it looks .It is really good fun though and i intend to keep trying whenever i get the chance.Luckily for me it started raining after afew hours so we headed home to some warmth because its been a while since i've been that cold.
